Jeffreys Bay is world famous, not only for being the home to perfect waves, but also for the variety and quality of shells that are deposited on its unspoilt beaches every day of the year. The Jeffrey's Bay Shell Museum houses an impressive and beautiful collection of local shells gathered on the beaches of Jeffrey's Bay, as well as shells from other countries. Visitors are welcome to collect shells which are varied and plentiful.

There are a number of small nature reserves in the area, such as the Kabeljous Estuary and Nature Reserve, which is a walk-about reserve with a safe beach for swimming and excellent fishing opportunities as well as bird watching a small animals. The Noorsekloof Nature Reserve is a 28.7 hectare reserve stretching up to Wavecrest, small buck and many birds can be seen along the 3 km trail running alongside the stream. Then there is the Seekoei River Nature Reserve which is on the Seekoei River estuary. It is a bird watchers paradise, as the hide overlooks the Seekoei River where there is an abundance of water fowl.

Dolphin sightings are almost a daily occurrence and the whales and their calves play in the bay between July and October. Jeffreys Bay is part of the Whale route.

There is also a lot of other entertainment including a cinema, putt-putt, waterslide, paintball games, and a fun fare.

Jeffreys Bay offers anglers a variety of venues to suit all. Surf fishing along the beaches from the Gamtoos Mouth to the Kabeljous Mouth produces Kob, Leervis, Grunter, White Steenbras as well as big sharks and rays.

The beaches around Jeffreys Bay are home to some of the biggest and most spectacular dunes in South Africa. Sandboarding is fun and easy to learn.

Cycle through the nature reserve to the waterfall, where you can jump off Suicide Rock or slide the foefie slide; or concentrate on a game trip where you bike through a game farm seeking rhino, giraffe, zebra and other game; and many more guided options.
